Space Coast Marathon Set For Nov. 29

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA (Nov. 26, 2009) – Running Zone and Space Coast Runners will presents the 38th running of the Space Coast Marathon and Half-Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 29. Both races start in Cocoa Village, and finish with a lap around the Riverfront Park Amphitheater.

Running Icon Switzer To Appear at Running Zone

At the 2009 Boston Marathon in April, Kathrine Switzer launched the updated soft-cover edition of her memoir, MARATHON WOMAN (pictured above; on right). Her powerful, inspiring, and often funny book has delighted women and men readers and reviewers everywhere. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Running icon Kathrine Switzer will make a guest appearance at Running Zone in Melbourne on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Ms. Switzer is best known as the woman who challenged the all-male tradition of the Boston Marathon and became the first woman to officially enter and run the event.

Running Zone Foundation Keeps Brevard Moving

Together with a small army of loyal employees, volunteers and sponsors, the Don and Denise Piercy has launched fitness clinics, training camps, and the increasingly successful Running Zone Race Series, a collection of fun, seasonally-themed, family-friendly events.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – When Don and Denise Piercy opened the doors to Running Zone six years ago their goal was to increase community fitness. In September 2008, they established the Running Zone Foundation, Inc. to formalize their commitment to health and fitness programs on the Space Coast.
