BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA (April 10, 2010) – The Melbourne Hilton Rialto Grand Ballroom was bursting at the seams as over 60 exhibitors displayed a wide variety of medical goods and services at the 8th Annual BIMDA Medical Expo and Symposium.

Continuing education units for doctors, medical lectures and other events kept the large crowds interested during this Space Coast annual medical tradition.

Over 300 people attended the spectacular and glamorous evening gala which recognized the leaders of the organization. BIMDA’s Honorary Executive Director, Glad Kurian, directed the evenings festivities and welcomed key note speaker, Senator Mike Haridopolis, who spoke of the important contributions that BIMDA makes to the Brevard County community.

“BIMDA’s members and leadership make up a significant portion of the medical community in Brevard and their role is becoming more and more important each year,” said Haridopolis.

“BIMDA is a shining example of how a non-profit organization can support its community and provide leadership,” he said.

Acclaimed dance instructor and TV celebrity, Denny Terrio, provided the evening’s light entertainment with a collection of beautiful dancing demonstrations performed by his classically trained dancers.

Terrio also gave a showing of his own disco dance moves which were first used in the world famous, cult classic movie “Saturday Night Fever.”

Chris McAlpine, chairman of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra Board and senior vice president of professional services/administration at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, also thanked the BIMDA board for their support of the arts in Brevard.
