US-WORLD-NEWS-COVERBREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA (Nov. 16, 2009) – In the latest rankings of healthcare plans across America, U.S. News & World Report has rated Health First Health Plans among the country's elite, with HFHF placing 31 out of the more than 165 health plans that participated in the survey.

The Health First Health Plans commercial plans also ranked in the top 25 percent, placing 60 out of 239 participating plans. Only one other plan in Florida ranked higher for both commercial and Medicare products.

The “America’s Best Health Insurance Plans” report is published jointly by U.S. News and the National Committee on Quality Assurance, an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting the quality of managed care plans to help consumers, employers and others make informed healthcare choices. News ratings are among the most rigorous in the nation. “We applaud U.S. News and he National Committee on Quality Assurance for offering a detailed, objective tool to help consumers choose a high-quality health plan,” said Health First Health Plans Chief Executive Officer Peter Weiss, MD.
