“BAHS is the largest and most exciting networking group in the state of Florida,” said BAHS Vice President Troy Denault of All Promotions, Inc.

“We are a nonprofit organization that supports the healthcare community and the citizens of the Space Coast – as well as other nonprofits.”

BAHS was founded by a small group of professionals in the Brevard County human services industry who recognized the value in networking.

The organization was established to increase awareness of community providers, and has grown to over 500 participating members – with monthly luncheon attendance topping 100. Meetings are held on every third Wednesday of each month at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place.

Senior Health Fair Features Free Admission, Free Health Screenings

bahs-33-w“Since 2004 BAHS has hosted the Senior Health Fair to educate the community regarding the many healthcare options available in the area.” said Denault.

“The Senior Health Fair Tribute to Veterans promotes good health for Brevard County senior citizens and, appropriately, also pays tribute to veterans on Veterans Day.”

Included in the event will be the Moving Tribute Memorial, a set of black onyx panels provided by “Some Gave All, Inc.” that includes the names of all of those who paid the ultimate price for their country in the Middle East and those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. Members of area VFW Posts and representatives from Patrick Air Force Base will present speeches honoring veterans.

The Senior Health Fair will convey current and compelling health information and free health screenings.

“The senior health fair will convey current and compelling health information; free health screenings; and also include a Business Expo that will include over 65 health services-related companies,” said Denault.

Brevard Association of Human Services’ members meet monthly and focus on education and networking. The group was established more than 10 years ago in an effort to increase awareness of community providers, thereby improving services available to the community.

“Admission and parking are free, and the first 150 seniors to arrive will receive invitations to a special formal educational plated lunch hosted by some of Brevard’s top senior service companies,” said BAHS Treasurer Dean Friedman of Friedman Asset Preservation Strategies and Long Term Care Planning.
