BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Hospital‘s new chapel, which is part of the recent hospital expansion opened last June, was dedicated during a ceremony in honor of a beloved wife, daughter and mother of three children who died of ovarian cancer.
The ceremony was held to remember Rachael M. Anderson who died in Dec. 2004 at age 31. Rachael’s family wanted the new Palm Bay Hospital Chapel to be an everlasting testament to her faith, which helped to guide her, and her loved ones.

“We hope the chapel will continue her legacy as an inspiration for faith, hope, and peace for others in the midst of illness,” said Rachael’s parents, Jeanne and Ed Andre, who described Rachael as an incredible fighter and a shining spirit who never gave up hope.

During the dedication Rachael was remembered by her family, friends, local clergy members – as well as Palm Bay Hospital President, Judy Gizinski.
In addition to the generous gift from Rachae’ls family, other donors to the chapel include Bob and Beverly Galloway who donated funding for the chapel furnishings in memory of their mothers – Ellen Galloway and Angela Orler. The stained-glass entrance doors were donated by Gene and Judy McCarthy. Others who donated their time and services include HKS Architects, Bovis Lend Lease, Southmost Drywall, Southern Acoustics and ABC Caulking.
The Rachael M. Anderson Chapel is located inside Palm Bay Hospital’s main entrance just past the elevators. Members of the public are always welcome.
