Wuesthoff Foundation Nets $140,000 For Cardiac Programs

26th Annual Dave Nisbet Golf Tournament

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Wuesthoff Health System Foundation raised more than $200,000, with net proceeds of $140,000, at the 2009 Dave Nisbet-Wuesthoff Golf Tournament.

Held this year to raise funds and awareness for Wuesthoff Heart Center’s exceptional cardiac programs, the two-day golf event was sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Porsche Audi of Melbourne.  This event has raised $4.5 million over the last 25 years, with proceeds earmarked for residents and families on the Space Coast who are need of medical services.

“We are proud to commit this year’s tournament to support Wuesthoff Heart Center and our exceptional cardiac programs and services,” said Dotty Allen, Wuesthoff Health System Foundation president. “This is one of the most enjoyable and successful events of the year for the Wuesthoff Foundation,” said Allen.

Big Draw For Golfers Across the Country

More than 120 golfers from across the country participated in this 26th annual event, which is named to honor a long-time Wuesthoff board member, the late David Nisbet. Active in community programs and philanthropic affairs, Mr. Nisbet served Wuesthoff during a career which spanned more than 50 years.

Two of Brevard’s best golf courses hosted the tournament – Rockledge Country Club and Viera East Golf Club. The two day event featured Individual Stroke or Scramble categories.

Associated activities included a golf clinic and gala banquet held at Rockledge Country Club, and the final evening featured a cocktail party and awards ceremony.

- One-Ball Club Shoot Out
